Transition Detectors

The Transition Detectors tab is displayed only when Transitional Timing mode or Serial Bus Trigger mode is active.

The Transition Detectors define which channels can detect changes in the input signals. These channels define when the logic analyzer stores samples to memory in Transitional Timing mode.

Each channel can be configured to ignore all transitions, detect any transition, detect only rising edges, only falling edges, or logic-high or  logic-low values.

When one or more channels determines that an input signal has changed, the logic analyzer stores the sample to memory.

All connected channels are stored in each trace sample. Channels with disabled transition detector are still stored in the sample. The transition detectors only affect which channels can cause samples to be stored.

Channels which are not used in at least one channel group are assumed to be unconnected. These unconnected channels are ignored at run-time, cannot trigger the logic analyzer, and cannot detect transitions. This practice avoids unwanted noise or triggers caused by unconnected channels.
