Sample Depth

The sample depth defines the requested samples to capture in the trace data.

The available sample depths depend on the selected Input Mode, Active Channels, Sample Mode, and Sample Rate. Therefore, these setup values must be chosen before choosing the sample depth.

If the logic analyzer is stopped manually or the incoming signals become inactive while using Transitional Timing, State Analysis, or Serial Bus Trigger modes, then fewer samples may be captured than requested.

Sample depths larger than 16M samples require 64-bit Windows plus the x64-native version of the GoLogic7 software. In theory, 32-bit Windows is limited to 2GB per program instance. In practice, the limit is about 1GB of memory per 32-bit program instance. The result is that trace captures larger than 16M samples cannot be supported.
