Normal Timing

The Normal Timing sample mode uses a fixed sample rate to oversample the input signals. The logic analyzer samples the active channel inputs and stores the data to internal memory at the selected sampling frequency.

To capture a valid representation of the input signals, the sampling rate must be 4 to 10 times faster than the input signals. In other words, the logic analyzer must over-sample the input signals by 4X to 10X as a minimum.

As the over-sampling ratio increases above 10X, the captured data more accurately represents the actual input signals. However, excess over-sampling may capture undesirable noise and limits the total time-span of the trace capture.
