Verify the "Install the GoLogic USB driver" option is checked at the end of the install wizard...
#2) Click the "Finish" button and allow Windows to run the "InstallTool.exe" utility when prompted. The InstallTool utility tells Windows to associate the NCI logic analyzer USB Vendor ID and Product ID with the WinUSB device driver.
#3) Connect the USB and power cable after the InstallTool utility is done.
When the USB and power cables are connected, Windows detects the logic analyzer device and automatically completes the USB driver installation.
See the Device Manager topic (below) if the USB driver is not installed automatically.
Device Manager
Use Control Panel's "Device Manager" utility to verify the GoLogicUSB device driver is present...
After Device Manager displays the GoLogicUSB device, the automatic driver installer is no longer needed. The driver installer package can be uninstalled once the USB driver is installed.
If Device Manager does not list the "GoLogicUSB" class when the USB and power cables are connected...
#1) Verify the automatic driver installer is present by viewing Control Panel's "Programs and Features" utility...
#2) Verify the logic analyzer USB and power cables are connected. The red "Power" LED should be lit.
#3) Connect to a different USB host port on the PC. A problem may exist with one port which does not affect other USB ports.
#4) Try a different USB cable to determine if the cable is damaged.
#5) Remove any USB cable extenders or USB hubs between the device and the host PC. Keep things simple!
#6) Verify the latest Windows updates and Service Packs are installed.
#7) Try other computers to determine if the logic analyzer needs repair. Contact NCI if the device does not work with other computers. A problem exists with the first computer if the device works with other computers.
#8) Verify the most recent computer BIOS and motherboard drivers are installed. Obtain these updates from the computer maker (Dell, HP, etc.).
See the Manual Driver Install topic (below) if the above debug tips do not allow the USB driver to be installed automatically.
