Logic Analyzer Probes

Three logic analyzer probe types are available: General-Purpose Leadset, Mictor, and Pinpoint probes.

All NCI logic analyzer probes…

  • Use coaxial shielding for each channel wire.
  • Provide a ground for each channel to reject noise and avoid crosstalk.
  • Use a passive circuit inside each lead-tip to preserve signal quality.
  • Present low loads: 50 Kohm, 4.5 pF picofarad.
  • Support 300 mV voltage swings.
  • Support both differential and single-ended input signals.

The PCB connections for the Mictor and Pinpoint probes are pin-compatible with similar probes from other logic analyzer makers. However, NCI logic analyzer probes can only be used with NCI logic analyzers.

General-Purpose Leadset Probes

NCI logic analyzer probes are sold separately from the main logic analyzer unit. The General-Purpose Leadset supports Logic Analyzer low and high-speed signal applications. Each probe input wire uses co-axial shielding and offers a separate ground input. This shielding eliminates crosstalk and provides maximum noise and EMI rejection. All NCI logic analyzer probes support both single-ended and differential input signals.

Our gripper clips allow you to quickly connect General-Purpose Leadset inputs to individual pins on a chip. You can choose which size, large or small, you need for the task at hand.

PinPoint Probes

The 36-channel PinPoint™ probe is 100% pin-compatible with similar logic analyzer probes from Tektronix “connectorless” and Keysight/Agilent “soft touch”. NCI Pinpoint probes can only be used with NCI logic analyzers. Add one or two female PinPoint retention modules to your design and route your target signals to the pads. The PinPoint probe attaches to the retention modules installed on your device. All NCI probing options support both single-ended and differential input signals.

Mictor Probes

Add one or two female Mictor sockets to your design and route your target signals to the pads. All NCI probing options support both single-ended and differential input signals.
